Hello, I'm
Ayman Tanzil
Civil Engineering Background & Competency
I am a professional Civil Engineer with a solid educational foundation and a specialized career centered on designing, estimating, and supervising SDF (Social Development Foundation) infrastructure projects. My journey in engineering revolves around bringing sustainable, high-quality connectivity and utility structures to rural and climate-vulnerable communities in Bangladesh.
Through rigorous field experience, I have developed expertise in directing large-scale local operations—specifically supervising the construction of 40 RCC box culverts, multiple concrete bridges, over 30 solar utility grids, and massive road earthwork/compaction projects to bridge isolation and drive economic growth.

Structural & Field Work Lifecycle
Every civil engineering project follows a rigid, safety-focused lifecycle to guarantee long-term serviceability. In rural and community-driven developments, this process integrates strict technical engineering standards with active local stakeholder communication.
By strictly monitoring every phase—from soil N-values and water-cement ratios to structural alignment and reinforcement bindings—I ensure that every building, culvert, and roadway is climate-resilient and built to last.
1. Site Survey & Geotech
Conducting site alignment surveys, water table studies, and SPT (Standard Penetration Tests) to evaluate soil bearing capacity and foundation requirements.
2. Design & Cost Estimating
Drafting detailed architectural plans in AutoCAD, running structural loading analysis in ETABS, and drafting precise Bill of Quantities (BoQ) for cost optimization.
3. Layout & Procurement
Sourcing premium Grade 60 steel, standard 1st class bricks, and cement. Setting out precise centerline layouts on-site based on baseline benchmarks.
4. Supervision & QA/QC
Supervising reinforcement tying, concrete casting, slump test testing, concrete cylinder crushing tests, and moisture compaction tests (Modified Proctor).

Work Experience Timeline
District Infrastructure Specialist (DIS) / Project Engineer
Leading the technical design, structural estimation, and intensive construction quality control of rural community infrastructure projects under SDF (an autonomous body under the Ministry of Finance, Government of Bangladesh). Managing co-financed, community-driven projects focused on climate resilience and transport enhancement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervised the structural design and successful field casting of 40 RCC box culverts across multiple districts.
- Oversaw the site inspection, piling, girder positioning, and concrete pouring of 6 rural bridge projects.
- Directed a large-scale solar project showcasing 32 solar street light installations in remote, rural markets (securing foundations, solar panel alignments, battery systems, and night operations).
- Supervised subgrade filling, soil density Proctor tests, and 10 herringbone-brick soling road projects.
- Developed full architectural & structural models (AutoCAD/ETABS) and Bill of Quantities (BoQs) for administrative cluster offices.
Assistant Construction Supervision Engineer
Collaborated on subdistrict road connectivity and drainage projects. Supervised sub-contractors on-site, verified structural alignments, checked concrete reinforcement cover ratios, and recorded material delivery certifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducted on-site slump tests, concrete cylinder casting, and laboratory compression testing to verify concrete strength.
- Verified reinforcement detailing on-site, checking stirrup spacings and splice lengths against design specifications.
- Reviewed sand-cone density test logs for road subgrade earth compaction to meet 95% Modified Proctor Density standards.
- Measured ongoing works and prepared detailed progress reports for senior Executive Engineers.
Junior Structural Design Engineer
Began professional career under senior structural consultants, performing dead and live load assessments, modeling structures in ETABS/STAAD.Pro, and drafting engineering detail sheets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drafted architectural-to-structural layouts for multi-story residential buildings in AutoCAD.
- Performed wind and seismic load estimations under BNBC (Bangladesh National Building Code) guidelines.
- Assisted in designing footings, grade beams, columns, and structural slab reinforcement detailing.

Field Reports & Professional Feedback
“Ayman's technical expertise has been a massive asset to our rural development initiatives. His uncompromising stance on concrete quality and structural supervision ensured that all 40 of our community box culverts were completed with flawless casting. He understands the core needs of SDF infrastructure.”
“I collaborated with Ayman on several connectivity road layouts and bridge placements. His precision in quantity estimation, detailed 2D AutoCAD detailing, and strict field monitoring of soil compaction density make him an exceptionally capable civil engineer.”
“Before Ayman supervised the building of our concrete box culvert and the solar street lights, our village canal was impassable during monsoon floods, and our village bazaar was dark and unsafe at night. Now, our children walk to school safely, and our market is vibrant after dark.”
